At Moonee Ponds we have two 3-5 Year Old Kinder Rooms. Both of these rooms are run by Qualified Kindergarten teachers who have designed programmes to stimulate and challenge children within this age group.
Our programming evolves from
the interest that is generated through involvement, discussion, play and enjoyment.
Children are different, as are their abilities. The kinder staff set
appropriate, realistic yet challenging goals for these children, so they can
explore and develop school readiness skills in a caring, stimulating
environment.
Self help skills and empathy are a focus and children are encouraged to develop their skills and independence both in preparation for their first year of school and for life. School readiness is an important part of the programme and amongst other things, we hold annual Prep Information Nights for parents, hold lunch box days for the children and encourage role play through the use of school uniforms in our Dress Up Corner.
Pre Schoolers fill every day with learning
and fun throughout a variety of independent and small group activities.
Children experience the joy of learning through stories, books and early
writing experiences. They also develop math and social science skills and enjoy
creative activities like painting, singing and drama. All of these activities
are designed to prepare children for school and to be fun so children do not just learn, they love to learn.
