Children in the 3-year-old room are able
to demonstrate much more independence in all their life skills. At Northland, our qualified Kindergarten teacher has developed a program which stimulates and challenges the children, enhancing their social
skills through parallel play and beyond to cooperative play.
The room is designed so that there is a choice of play. At Kinder Haven, children
lead the way by choosing the learning outcomes they would like to explore.
Children are packed with so much underlying knowledge and as teachers; we act
as resources to enable their understanding of the world around them to be
extended on in meaningful, purposeful play. Of course, love, care and nurturing
are still paramount to every day at Kinder Haven, as well as a fun, educational
program.
We offer high interaction and physical
involvement activities such as block play, dramatic play, messy play, climbing
and balancing. Language development can involve noisy types of play, e.g. life
experiences play or role modelling. This age group is extremely curious and
experimental and we support this learning whole heartedly.
