We believe that children need to learn about healthy eating habits from a young age to ensure they grow up healthy in adulthood.
We want a community garden where the children, parents and the community connect by growing and maintaining everything we produce. It is essential we encourage children to develop the skills and understanding about what we are planting and eating in order to achieve healthy eating habits.
During 2011 Kinder Haven is establishing a community garden where the children, parents and the community connect by growing and maintaining everything we produce. It is essential we encourage children to develop the skills and understanding about what we are planting and eating in order to achieve healthy eating habits. We aim to extend this into teaching children about sustainability within their environment.
For this to be successful we need the community and parents to be involved as much as possible to share knowledge and experience to the children. We invite you to donate items such as seeds, soil, planting equipment, gumboots, watering cans, sleepers, stakes, wood materials and anything else for our garden.
Your time and help is needed to make this project amazing for the children.
